I was thinking maybe add some optional quests for cool/ fun things like optional equipment, like the boomerang, and fun time stuff ,like toys or cool animations. and also for gralats as well!

I think this intention is already kindof self-explanatory?

Racil:
There used to be 'treasure maps' that were a bit like this. You'd find treasure maps that would mark a spot to dig, then you'd find a room with a chest and something guarding it. The prize would be a random item with limited use, but there was also one or two heras that could be obtained through it.
