Updates and Announcements / Freeze Tag Studio Event
« on: August 10, 2012, 12:11:30 PM »
Freeze Tag has been added to the GC Studios.

  • Both single player and team modes are supported.
  • A frozen player now has a text indicator above their head, chat is prevented.
  • Friendly fire damage from a team/guild mate (in order to unfreeze you) is only possible when you are frozen.
  • Recoil movement is disabled, only the blink occurs.

Now that this and numerous other developments are out the way, some big news are coming™.

Updates and Announcements / Poll Booth Restored
« on: July 25, 2012, 12:15:26 PM »
While there is one more studio event in the pipeline, efforts are also being designated towards inside filling, details and refining in preparation for Classic going live.

One such notable location which has been restored is the poll booth.
Poll data is now stored within an SQLite database, so there won't be roll-back issues when the NPC-Server is restarted.
It may also be possible in future to have poll boards at other locations with special permissions, such as guild houses.

The poll booth is the building to the left of SuperNick's battle arena (pyramid) in the north of Graal City.

Updates and Announcements / Whackanoob Studio Event
« on: July 19, 2012, 11:39:16 AM »
Whackanoob has been added to the GC Studios.

  • A temporary hammer weapon is assigned within this level.
  • The target points are adjustable, reaching it will automatically stop the game where other events are manual.

Suggestions for noob dialogue can be added. I have a thread regarding this here:

Updates and Announcements / Flag Bearer Studio Event
« on: July 13, 2012, 10:01:17 PM »
Flag Bearer has been added to the GC Studios.

Other than the advantages within all new publicly hostable events it's mostly the same as before, there being both the standard and elimination mode. A couple of notable differences would be an improved (plus more efficient) power meter image, and screen messages occurring for grabbing the flags or eliminations.

Updates and Announcements / Musical Chairs Studio Event
« on: June 15, 2012, 10:01:31 PM »
Musical Chairs has now been added to the GC Studios.

Similarly to Pot Race it's another simple event which I believe most servers have had, but is once again publicly hostable. One significant difference compared to before is that a midi plays during the round (if enabled to).

Updates and Announcements / Card Game Tournament Studio Event
« on: June 13, 2012, 09:44:40 PM »
A publicly hostable Trading Card Game tournament level has been added to the GC Studios.

  • Playing does not require the normal weapon. Games are started automatically once 2 players have been set.
  • It is possible to watch a started game by touching the table.
  • The bracket system from spar tournaments is also used here.
  • A won/tied game window is automatically closed after 5 seconds.
  • It is not possible for players to mutually cancel the game while competing. A game may be cancelled by the host.
  • A copy of the normal manual GUI can be seen by touching the book on the table.

Events / Spar Belts
« on: June 08, 2012, 12:20:24 PM »
Title defences are best of 3. This is also true with the final tournament round for when the champion is not present to defend.

When a title is won or defended, the statues within the hall of fame are updated:

In the case of the singles and tag team titles, new champions are given 3 days to defend their titles. Upon defending titles however, the remaining time is passed on to the next defence. So if a title were to be defended the day after it was won, the champion would then have 5 days before they have to defend again. The time remaining is shown within the statue signs.

Title holders are given belt weapons within the GC inventory folder. Firing this weapon once will show off the belt, firing it a 2nd time while showing off the belt will set the title guild tag.

Each title win and successful defence is counted within the statistics window:

Game coordinators are able to modify the appearance of statues should a champion request it.

Updates and Announcements / The Pit LMS Studio Event

  • Temporary Bow + Bomb weapons are allocated.
  • A players remaining lives are displayed as part of the screen message upon dieing.
  • Falling onto the spikes for a death refills HP, and invokes the respawn invincibility blink, which it hadn't before.

Updates and Announcements / Fort Builder Studio Event
« on: May 27, 2012, 07:10:25 PM »
Fort Builder has been added to the GC Studios:

  • Via the GUI controls blocks can automatically be placed both vertically and horizontally across the center, or cleared.
  • Blocks appear to crack as they are exploded, as opposed to using a hearts display like before.
  • Temporary Bomb and Bow weapons are allocated within this level.
  • There is the option to assign colour team tags. Leaving the level with a team tag will automatically reset it.
  • There are options to disable block laying, disable the damaging of blocks, or to enable Gravity movement.

Updates and Announcements / Pot Race Studio Event
« on: May 24, 2012, 05:14:33 PM »
Pot Race has now been added to the GC Studios. It may be a simple event which pretty much every server has had, but is likewise to the other studios events publicly hostable, also offering the point setting capability.

Updates and Announcements / Lasertag Studio Event
« on: May 19, 2012, 01:21:18 PM »
Having made a new version of Wizards and Warlocks as a team event, Lasertag has now been made as a publicly hostable studio event:

  • The controls are handled entirely through keyboard buttons, as opposed to a mouse. The arrow keys move the target cursor, A/grab key makes you walk towards the target, S/sword key shoots a laser towards the target, D/weapon key pulls the target back to your character for a quick turn.
  • The screen focus is set inbetween your character and target for a clear enough sight of both.
  • The laser colours match your nickname, so while they would be blue and red for Wizards and Warlocks, there's a wider array of colours for the single player version.
  • The event level itself has the option for both normal PK and one hit KO mode, as well as point setting.
  • With laser shooting now being incorporated into the main systems (which is also smoother and more consistant), it would be easy to add as a free for all PK level, perhaps within Ebon Hand.

  • The first 2 players to enter are set as the challengers, who are unset by leaving or dying.
  • The first 2 challengers must say Start to begin the spar. Each sparrer (or the one remaining sparrer) must say Stop to end the spar.
  • Once started, any 3rd player that enters the arena containing 2 challengers shall be warped back to the relevant area, or shall otherwise be set as a challenger.
  • Display Options and Focus from normal sparring are retained.
  • Ratings + Win/Loss/Tie statistics are disabled within team spars.
