Events / Monthly Spar Qualification
« on: April 26, 2012, 04:02:47 AM »
Similarly to the past, qualification spars are commenced between the first 2 players to reach a certain inside location. Due to the absence of basic alternative spar levels, as well as a larger map necessary to disperse them, a limit warp is instead placed at an automatic random location, which warps the first 2 players that reach it to a GC Arena. The locations consist of buildings all over the map, none of which are restricted by quest progress. A message containing the location is sent to the Chat Box whenever a qualification limit warp is created or closed.
The winner is warped to the waiting room, while the loser is warped back to the GC Studios.

The Monthly Spar arenas themself are now located within SuperNicks.

Updates and Announcements / GC Studios Spar Tournament
« on: March 29, 2012, 07:57:06 PM »
Another Studio level has been added for publicly hostable spar tournaments.
GC spars themself work pretty much the same as the normal spar within Supernick's minus the queue, normal exit & entry.

The main feature would be the addition of a tournament generator, which can support tournaments of any size for any event, can be viewed by players and modified by the host:

Bugs and Suggestions / Libraries/Bookshelves
« on: March 27, 2012, 10:08:51 AM »
For those familiar with the libraries within Master Li's and the Castle, there are several shelves without an entry, or with a somewhat short entry, there will likely be other similar locations in future.

Usually the material I think of is just for the sake of covering gaps, rather than the sake of offering detailed information, creative fantasies or interpretations of content.
If anybody has any such material they'd like to contribute, be it something of relevance to existing content, past content, in-game characters, humour, poetry, past happenings between players etc, then feel free to post it here and we'll add any good contributions where possible.

Events / GC Tickets

Awarding

The most important difference between past and new GC Tickets, is that rather than simply awarding a single number to the event winner(s), a smaller number of tickets will be awarded to players who merely participate, with extra GCT available to those who perform well within an event.

The idea behind this different approach is that it will encourage competitiveness, act as an incentive for players to participate even if it isn't their preferred event, and discourage the act of leaving when losing.

Check here to see how this works specifically for different events:
http://classicgraal.net/forums/index.php?topic=61.0

Penalties

As mentioned above, we want to discourage players from leaving a team event on the basis they are about to lose. Only those on the losing team who remain until the end of the event shall receive their complimentary ticket. In addition to this, any player who leaves with a seemingly inevitable loss impending can be made to automatically or manually receive a GCT deduction. Repeat offenders can possibly be made to receive a temporary events ban.

Degradation

*Edit*
This idea will be scrapped in the event of our plan for micro-transactions being approved.

As a further measure to encourage participation, plus a weapon against the act of currency hoarding, for every week a player goes without obtaining a ticket their total shall be deducted by 5% (rounded).

As an example, lets say a player has earned 100 GCT. The player then stops participating in events (or doesn't log on Classic) for a total of 3 full weeks.
The first week would reduce their total to 95 tickets.
The second week would reduce their total to 90 tickets
The third week would reduce their total to 85 tickets.
After 10 weeks, their total would be 63 tickets.
After 15 weeks, their total would go from 51 to 48 tickets, half of their original total.
