Title: Diagonal Throw
Post by: Racil on September 20, 2015, 03:26:20 PM
It'd be nice if we could throw liftable objects diagonally the same way we do the boomerang.

stop wanting to throw things, we need an option to gently set items down without breaking them

Is there a way to make it so you can pick up and throw other players kinda like the zoras in LTTP?

Looks like someone wants to throw a certain Zorbi.

Diagonal throw is possible but I'm not sure I'd want it usable in events. Perhaps as a quest upgrade.

Picking up players is sadly very complicated to pull off in Graal.

Graal v1.32 (offline version) found a way! You could also throw players in water to make them disappear and make them unable to play.
I think Dusty was able to pull it off more successfully on his version of classic.
What would the issue be in events with diagonal throwing? I understand haveing certain mechanics disabled, just curious.
edit:I forgot, #savethesigns !
Hmm, now I want to make sprites for signs falling face first onto the ground once you put them down.

Throwing anything* into a body of water should immediately lower your ap to zero and give players that have a cynober skin colour a damage buff that'll last until you're gutted.

*fishfood and money are greatly appreciated.

sorry for the bump but I had an idea

what if the loophole was that the carried player doesn't actually get picked up? they simply disappear, and their screen follows the carrying player. Meanwhile, the carrying player just holds an NPC with attributes set to look like the player being carried - a bush that looks like a player, really. Then, when they throw/drop them, the carried player get warped to the target location and becomes visible again, while the dummy disappears.

now, there still might be delay for the screen of the player being carried, having to follow the carrying player. but unlike on un, the rest of the server won't see it as the carried player warping around behind the carrying player, since the actual carried player isn't the object being carried, but an invisible character tied to the carrying player's xy

I, knowing nothing of scripting, think this sounds like a great idea!

How about a sign that throws the player when attempting to pick up the sign?
